Short Story Class!

I’m teaching another short story class at the Creative Alliance in Baltimore this winter (Jan-Feb 2010). It’ll be less than $200 for eight weeks, and the classes are intimate (10-12 people). Give me a holler if you want more information, and I’ll gladly discuss it with you!

Here’s a sneak peek at the blurb that will be on the Creative Alliance website:

Write Here Write Now Fiction: The Art of the Short Story
Jen Michalski (author of Close Encounters, editor of jmww, and cohost of 510 Readings) is your guide in the quest to craft the perfect short story! In this 8-week class you’ll write, workshop, and revise a short story (20 pages or fewer) and ready it for submission. Along the way, you’ll explore character, point of view, setting, and voice, in addition to current fiction markets and the dos and don’ts of submissions. After the class, you’ll have a story ready to mail to the publishing giants. (Stamps not included.)
