Free to a Good Home

A short story of mine is looking for a forever home. It's been at my shelter for a while now, a droop in its snout, the beginnings of kennel cough, and it would really thrive in a permanent situation with loving editorial caretakers and attentive readers. It gets along with other stories, flash, poetry, and art in any type of journal, print or electronic. So many prospective owners have come and looked at this story, have laughed and cried and scratched its head. A few have almost signed the papers, but they decided on a younger story or a smaller story or a cat. They assured me that someone else would take it—it's a great story! So shiny and furry and such clean teeth—So sorry we have to pass on it. It's a beautiful girl, really, definitely a pedigree in it somewhere, although I can't give you any papers. Finally, it's a smidgen over 5000 words, but don't let her size fool you—she's a lap-story all the way (or thinks she is).

Please let me know if you can offer a forever home to this story. I'm hoping to move her soon because there are other stories coming in by the day. I can give her a bath, trim her nails, brush her teeth. You can even change her name if you don't feel it suits her. Make no mistake, though: this story has the biggest heart and is waiting only to please you.
