The Way to Each Other

Thanks, David Atkinson, for the thoughtful review of my first collection, Close Encounters. The story of the review, in Indigest Magazine, is even cooler than the review:

You see, there was a Jen Michalski that I knew from way back in third grade and who I went to school with for years, though I lost track of her after high school. Funny thing, the Jen Michalski I knew happened to be a dead ringer for the author of Close Encounters.

Even though you did not find the Jen Michalski you were looking for, I'm glad something in these stories:

Some of the stories have extremely strong emotional impacts and all of them are really well written. For something I picked up on a whim, I’m quite impressed.

More from InDigest Magazine here.

And now I'm insanely curious about this curly-haired lass, Jen Michalski. Several writers, including Goethe, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Guy de Maupassant, were reported to have been visited by their own Doppelgangers, although it usually was in reference to their impending death. Hmm, maybe I should wait awhile before sending that Facebook invite.
